Ingredients:
600g (approx.) lean pork fillet
1 tsp dark brown soft sugar
2 tbsp runny honey
3 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp Chinese five spice seasoning
1 chicken stock cube
30ml boiling water
A drop of red food colouring (optional)
Method:
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and Chinese five spice.
Dissolve the chicken stock cube in 30ml of boiling water, then add it to the marinade mixture. Add a drop of red food colouring if you’d like a traditional-style red glaze.
Place the pork fillet in an ovenproof tin or dish that fits your air fryer. Pour the marinade over the meat and use a brush to coat it evenly.
Transfer the dish to the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.
Open the air fryer, baste the pork with the juices, and brush the glaze back over the meat.
Close the air fryer and cook for a further 15 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and caramelised on the outside.
Remove from the air fryer and allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Perfect served with rice, noodles, or stir-fried vegetables.
